Why Phoenix?

As you know, astronomical equipments are very expensive. This is a great problem which dose not seem to solve and cause the far distances between astronomer, researchers, students and the projects they want to do. Some years ago, some observational centers in the world, specially in USA and Europe, to solve this problem, founded direct communication method. In this method, users around the world, after getting a work time from observatory administration, connected to observatory main server via a computer and Phone line, and take their photos by CCD.

But only limited number of these centers, have public services. TIE, eSTAR and National Schools Observatory are some of them, with expensive price and busy time.

Iran is a country which has huge number of individuals who like to live with sky. Although it has beautiful and starry sky, but some problems don't permit them to go in observatories or research centers. So HRC wants to establish a program called Phoenix for direct communication among users and K1 observatory.

By Phoenix, all ones can come into the K1 via a phone line and modem, although they are sitting at home and drink coffee. Schools can establish virtual observations for their students. Astronomers in dark side of earth can observe daily events, and ones in light side can observe sky of other side. They can follow a small time events, for example Solar eclipses, for long time. All of these are done by Phoenix.

In Iranians historical culture, the Phoenix is a bird of desires, helps people only by small wish. Phoenix which has helped many champions of ancient Iran, now is coming back to help us in century of war, to show the beauty of universe and God power.
