Transit of Venus  June 8, 2004

Simulations Match

Final Report of HRC Activities in Transit

Venus Transit 2004 Photos

Numerical Results

HRC Program For Transit

What is the Problem?

Venus has a mass, diameter and gravity approximately equaled to our planet, Earth. When it cross between Sun and Earth, it has some effects on Earth and itself orbital moving specifications. These effects are very small, but we want to simulate them. So:

Problem :

Simulate the "Effect of Venus transit on movement specifications of Earth and Venus"

Simulations Match!

We will award ones who can simulate this effect, precisely, completely with enough details, in a system composed of 3 objects (Sun, Earth and Venus). In a more complex state assume the Jupiter in your simulation too, i.e. consider 4 objects in your system. More results will have more (+) marks. After competition we will publish the best simulations on the web, software package and Transit Book with name(s) and information of programmer(s).

Rule of the Match!

  • Simulations methods should be based on strong physical principals.

  • Every one can attend in this match.

  • Each one can send more than one program; but these programs should have written in different methods.

  • If your sent program has mistake, contact to venustransit2004@HRCglobal.net, and send the new program to the mentioned address.

  • You should program it by one of these languages: FORTRAN, C/C++ (also its Visual version), JAVA, PASCAL, Delphi, BASIC (also its Visual version).

  • Programs should be user friendly.

  • Simulations should have suitable number of Charts, Numerical Results, Maps, Images.

  • the programs should be compatible with IBM PC and also MS-DOS or MS-Windows 98/XP operating systems.

  • You should provide a User Guide for your software as PDF or HTML and send it with your software. This User guide should has physical principles, you have used in your program and descriptions for each part of program and the methods, software works.

  • Each software should has at last 2 programmer.

  • Each programmer should send his/her 3x4 photo and the completed Registration Form with the software.

  • The programs should be sent as Source on a CD-ROM.

The received registration will be confirmed by email. If you haven't received the confirmation email please contact to venustransit2004@HRCglobal.net.
