Future of Phoenix

HRC astronomy department has 4 programs for future of Phoenix :

- Upgrading the K1 equipments to obtain higher quality and observation power is required. A 20" telescope is in the list of requirements. Computer systems for control and data transfer will be improved. Research and controlling software as The Sky, Real Sky, Sun Processor will be updated and become more powerful. But Sun Processor must be completed more, for greater and greater analyzes, for this reason HRC and physics dept of Isfahan university of technology (IUT) have common project to transfer students and technology.

- Today, mobile phones have high resolution displays which can show photos, movie, ... with good quality. In other hand the rate of data transfer in these communication tools is faster than normal phone lines. Also, they don't require kilometers of wire. They work in all places and times. They can connect to Internet and visit the pages, without computer. So Phoenix can send the images for users who work with mobile. Unfortunately, in Iran we have not this service for mobiles, so we cannot test it. If Iran ICT ministry, set this technology for mobiles, we will immediately develop this program for Phoenix.

- Radio observation is one of the most important subjects in astronomical researches. But there is a problem! Each researcher can only receive and record his own location data. In some programs, for example meteor shower, amateurs want to have other observations results in other locations. HRC with association of IMO and Radio Jove are designing and making equipments for online solar and meteor radio observation which develop the phoenix usages (Astronotice). By this project, the radio observers, around the world, can receive data of Iran sky, time to time. This project is done in 2 parts. First, hardware, 2 long antennas, receiver and interface to connect antennas to the computer. Second, a software which receive date from antennas, then analyze them and finally send the results to HRC website automatically (1 or 2 time(s) per day). Around the pick of meteor shower, this helps the observers to compare their results together.

- Phoenix can work with more than one observatories. HRC wants to connect some observatories in Iran to Phoenix.
