HRC in 1384
Persian Year
(March 20, 2005 - March 21, 2006) DgLab a Distant Laboratories (April 2005) When HRC was working on Phoenix project, some of Falah high school students, suggested that they can use Phoenix to connect users to Falah biology lab. HRC managers investigated their suggestion and accepted it. So the students started to research. Finally they decided to connect users to high resolution microscope of high school. It is possible for users to take images by school microscopes via high school intranet. They can change the samples, eyepieces and images properties directly and by operator. Now after 9 months this project was finished successfully and called DgLab (digitally laboratory). DgLab was introduced to all at middle of august in Phoenix party. Morever, HRC and research center of medicine university of Isfahan (MUI) contribute in imaging biological and medical samples. HRC use its DgLab technology to record images of MUI thousands medical and biological samples which have been stored in university laboratories. Digitally imagers and image processing system provide by HRC. Dr Adibi one of MUI researchers help and guide HRC team in this great project. After this project this huge image collection set on Internet for all researchers, students and teachers. This is one of the greatest biological and medical projects in Iran. Teachers can use this collection for their educational and research programs. Student use it to learn the biology facts better and better. Some of Falah high school help HRC in this scientific program. Now, Phoenix is a main base of many technical-scientific projects in HRC. Researchers and engineers add new features to Phoenix every time and create a new project. Live webcast and DgLab are good examples. In new project they used Phoenix for radio observations and called it "Radio Phoenix". At the first stage, they started Radio Phoenix (1) for meteor radio observation. Radio Phoenix (1) connect a 6-meters Yagi antenna to the receiver and computer, analyze meteor data by software and then send the results to HRC website directly. Now, the antenna has been made and the required software provided by HRC international friends. The communication technologies are used from Phoenix project. The antenna installed at K1 observatory in August 6th. This project was tested at August for perseid meteor shower. The second stage of Radio Phoenix will be designed for Solar and Jovian radio waves. Sun Processor: Now for Coronal Magnetic Field (August 2005) One the most important option in HRC program is Polarized imaging from Sun corona and analyze them via Sun Processor software (more details). After months, the mathematical-physics algorithm of this option was produced and now, HRC programmers are working on suitable software. This will be as a part of Sun Processor software. The algorithm has been tested and worked properly. Mohammad Akoochekian, the project manager hopes this project will be finished at the end of August or middle of September 2006. The software will be tested by polarized images which have been sent by Dr Tuncay Ozisik from Turkish National Observatory. The final results will be reported when the project finished successfully. Because of HRC strategy to develop the activity area, astronomy managers decided to use some high school clever students to produce some of software codes. Marzieh Pooramrollahi, HRC IT manager, managed them among cooperation. These students were concentrate on mathematics, algorithm, programming, coding and analyze. This team was composed of 4 students from 2 Isfahan high schools. Mina Ekramnia, Sepideh Akhavan and Sonia Amrollahi under management of HRC worked on the software for one month.Their results were used at main project of eclipse in turkey. This had its own risk bur its advantages were out of measurement. They developed the software to draw the magnetic field lines via other matrixes which are produced by some another parts of software. Their used algorithm were so short and useful that HRC programmers used some parts of this codes in Sun Processor software. The results was very close to HRC's. Sun Processor will analyze the solar eclipse 2006 data. Isfahan Said Hello to Phoenix (August 2005) Several months after start of Phoenix project, finally it tested successfully in K1 observatory. So now the observatory is the first remote control observatory in Iran. At middle of August HRC established a great party to Introduce this to all. Design and programming of Phoenix have been done completely in IT and astronomy departments of HRC. (Details of Phoenix project). HRC provided a program to introduce Phoenix program to more than 200 students and amateur astronomers. How project work, how students and teachers can use Phoenix were main parts of this program. At the end of lecture, they showed a movie about first test of Phoenix, which influenced all individuals in hall. After this lecture, many of students wanted to use HRC Phoenix programs or requested to be member of research center. For more information about Phoenix click here. Phoenix Project Registered in YSTP Best Ideas Festival (October 2005) Phoenix program was introduced as one of the best scientific ideas by Yazd Science and Technology Park (YSTP). YSTP is a governmental center under management of Iran ministry of sciences, research and technology. According to this certificate the phoenix idea has been registered for Hedayatgaran Research center (HRC). Best ideas festival is a national program in Iran to discover and introduce the best and remarkable ideas in scientific and technologic areas. (Details of Phoenix) HRC, as Sponsor of IUT Mini Baja Team (November 2005)
IUT Mini Baja, Photo by M. Akoochekian
S.A.F. Mini Baja competition is a famous international match for students of mechanics engineering. This is established each year in south Africa and university teams take part with their Mini Baja which is small automotive. Isfahan University of Technology (IUT), has taken part since 2004 in this world competition. HRC was one of this team, sponsors. So, address of HRC website (HRCglobal.net) was set on the car. HRC has designed a long program to support scientific and engineering teams in national and internatinal competitions. Teams of Robotic, Mini Baja, First Step to Nobel Prize and ... are in target.
SMS Web Service for HRC Global Network (November 2005) HRC in cooperation with Rahnema IT Co. (RDC), established SMS web services on HRCglobal.net . HRC IT department decided to develop its activities area to mobile phone. News publishing, direct fast communication between members, Etc are some of the targets. The new services has opened new windows to future. HRC has a important plan for IT solutions in research project and centers. Is it possible or NOT? (More Details) First week of February has great success for HRC SMS services. Number of the services users was increased so fast. Internet peaches and collaboration with other websites helped HRC to introduce the services to users. SMS news services as the first science program on mobile phone are very interesting for youths. Astronomy news has attracted the most number of users. Now users receive 2 SMS every week (104 sms per year). If this increasing growth continue as good as now, HRC will increase number of them and decrease their prices. Electronic Shopping for HRC Global Network (November 2005) New age needs to new technology for good live. Iranian astronomers every days need to new scientific materials for their researches and studying. But these materials are not available in all of cities and towns. HRCglobal established an eShop with most of these requirements. This is the first scientific eshop in Iran. more than 300 Softwares, Movies, Books, Games and ... are available for iranian astronomers. (More Details) Success After Lose, That's a Game (December 2005) Last year, amateur astronomy group designed a program, to provide a plan from the Moon surface (Details). According to this project, the observers should record complete images of Moon each night form 6th to 17th October. Then images should be processed to final mosaic plan of Moon. This Moon map was include of more than 100 images. The Images was taken. All of craters and mere was shown clearly. 9 nights images were composed very good. The beautiful image of Moon was completed step to step. But, ..., But when the observers continued with 10th night images, a serious problem appeared. Moon rotate slightly each night, so the points over Moon surface moved. Then distances between them were different, night to night. This difference was great at 10th night. But HRC image processors could solved the problem by changing in the images scales. But the 11th and 12th nights images were impossible to use. Where was the solution? No technical or graphical solution. So, the project was lost at the moment of success. Very beautiful image of Moon crescent is final result of project which will be presented as soon. After 3 days in a dialogue between Mohammad Akoochekian and Mina Ekramnia, they decided to complete the project. They divided the Moon plan to 2 hemispheres, east and west. Now they could produce a 2-parts map from Moon, sized .7m X .5m. So total images of Moon matched together. Then they started to Moon areas naming, according to standard maps. This beautiful and high resolution plan will be published in several versions: Wallpaper map, Catalog, Book, software and web based programs. This is the first plan of Moon in Iran. HRC hopes other observatory continue this movement by their better instruments.
