Team Before Travel at Bus Terminal

Today we leaved Isfahan to Urmieh. We leaved HRC office to bus station by 4 cars because The team carried many instruments and equipments (about 200 Kg) for the projects. On 4 o'clock, bus moved to Urmieh. At the first times we checked the programs of trip.

March 24, 2006

Team arrived Urmieh at 9 O'clock. After breakfast we exchanged our money to Turkish and bough later tickets to Van and Antalya. We arrived Van at 16:30.

Delicious breakfast in Urmieh

When we arrived Van

Then our Turkish friends guided us to Shahin hotel. Between Iran boundary and Van (Turkey) we stopped many times because of Turkish police controlling passengers passports and ID cards. But the invitation of Akdeniz university helped us to solved the problems. Other Iranian Turkish people who traveled with us, were so patient and helped us so much. Night, we visited the city (Van) and bought some souvenirs. I recorded 20 minutes video from city life. Van in not big city but you can find most of the things you can see in a big one and very live city. Tomorrow we will go to Antalya.

March 25, 2006

4 men and 200 Kg loads were carried to terminal just by 1 car

We leaved hotel at 8:30 to Bus terminal. Ehsan continued video recording from people when we were walking to terminal. Bus driver and attendant helped us to set our equipments in bus box. Then the bus moved to Antalya at 9:30. Bus attendants had good behaviors and solved our problems. One the important problems was language. We could not speak Turkish and they could not speak English. Tomorrow we will arrive Antalya.

Korhan and Ali (two phd Akdeniz University students) from observatory guided us to find best site for HRC team on the roof of building.

Administration building of Tubitak national observatoy

The Tubitak library has been reserved for HRC programs office with Internet line and other scientific requirements. Internet line and electricity were the most important requirements. Mohammad Akoochekian and Tuncay Ozisik made a phone calling to review the scientific plans. Akdeniz university has been designed so beautiful for students and researchers. Gardens, faculties and entertainments has been placed in suitable locations. You can enjoy your education in this university.

As the eclipse continued the number of observers at our location and web visitors increased. Finally total eclipse started and the sky color changed from blue to black. But so beautiful black. I saw the glorious corona in telescope eyepiece. OH GOD, ... (See images). Rafienia and Eslahi were photographing and video recording. After eclipse we started other stage, Image and reviewing. Those are so beautiful and glorious. Thanks god every things were ok. Other groups showed their images and video together and compared them. They show us the images and wanted our opinions. Prof. van der Hulst and Akoochekian, negotiated for Sun Processor

Night at the hotel Prof J.M. van der Hulst (Director of Kapteyn Astronomical Institute) invited us to a negotiation about HRC projects, specially coronal magnetic field. After 1.5 hours discussion, he offered HRC to established common project with Groningen university to develop Sun Processor software for Linux.

Zifir Blues Band Concert

At the first time of night, the university students (Zifir Blues Band) established a concert for solar eclipse. This was so dramatic.

March 30, 2006

Leaving the Tubitak was not easy, because of a great friendship between international

teams, presented in administration building. Sun eliminated the differences among nationalities.

Teachers and students of Akdeniz and Firat university and personals of Hotel established a

 party for HRC team

Today we had 2 main programs. First, upload eclipse images to the website and second, transportation of instruments from Tubitak administration building to university guest house. The uploaded images didn't have large size (just 200*150), we decided to upload better images with larger size and better quality after coming back to Iran. Because we must come back tomorrow and these 200 images processing take more time. Since morning we started to update the website, then reviewed our yesterday activities. Near lunch we had a cultural and political discussion about Iran with Dr Morad from Firat university. Unfortunately the world people views about Iran is not correct. He concluded that Iran government must develop its broadcasting about Iran real facts via scientific and cultural teams which travel to other country. This method is more effective than TV or Radio.

Discussion with Dr Morad about Iran

After lunch we transported our equipments to guest house by help of our Turkish friends. Really their helps were so useful and remarkable. Thanks them a lot, specially Ismaeil Baslar. Tonight we established a small party for the team success in eclipse projects. After coming back to Iran we will publish the reports and results completely. Tomorrow morning we will come back to Urmieh and then to Isfahan with huge number of data include of Images, videos and ... . I should thank my friends Dr Mohammad Rafienia, Ehsan Eslahi, Dr Ali Rahimi for their successful projects and my other friends in Iran specially Marzieh Pooramrollahi and members of Rahnema IT company for their remarkable technical supports.

April 1, 2006

After more than 30 hours finally we arrived Bayzid town. We changed our bus for 3 times. First from Bayzid town to Bazargan boundary, then from Bazargan to Makoo then to Urmieh. We stayed at Urmieh that night. Urmieh is center of western Azarbaijan.  We will travel to our city Isfahan tomorrow.

April 2, 2006

City Bazar

Sardaran Sqr.

Today was 13th day of new Iranian year. At this day people go out of city to rest and entertainment. So the city traffic was so heavy. We started to walk around city to buy some souvenirs. April 2, 2006
