Observatories Technological Projects

Sky Prince (0127) (June 2001) Finished

When astronomers go to observation in the nights they need tables and properties of stars and other objects. But this is very difficult to find these  information in that time because of dark sky and cold weather. We are designing a micro computer for amateurs to see the properties of objects (Messier, NGC, ...) on its screen by entering the name of the object. We think the price of this system will be about 120$. This instrument is useful for amateurs that have a simple telescope and also for those that want to observe the sky without telescope.

Nuclear Pro. (July 2000) Finished

From 1996 our astronomy and electronics dept. are working on a hardware which used for studding cosmic radiations. This hardware works with a software which can analyze the information which is got from the hardware. This hardware is connected to suitable detector and receives detector messages then software analyzes these messages in 3 ms and shows results on monitor. This software has two versions; DOS version and WINDOWS version. Now two departments are working on them and we think this project will be finished  in 2001. This project is called Nuclear Pro. This project is very important because Iranian researchers can research easily on cosmic radiations and other subjects around it.

T.C.S. (July 2000) Finished

Astronomy & Electronic dept. has designed a complete system which can control and guide a telescope that connected to it. This system called Telescope Controlling System (T.C.S.). By TCS astronomers can enter the names of stars and other objects  to the system by a keyboard, then telescope find that object and follows it. There are 15000 mass coordinates in TCS memory. TCS will be provided for Iranian astronomers in  next 6 months.
